Barn Power Washing FAQs
Power wash prep is relatively straight forward. Horses will need to be kept outside in paddocks or fields for the duration of the wash and a brief time after. Typically, we ask that all items are removed from the stall fronts, buckets are removed from the stalls, and a small amount of clean sawdust is swept and piled in the center of the stall to absorb water from the interior wash. In the aisles, anything that you do not want to get soaked or could be ruined by hot water and disinfectant, is advised to be stored away temporarily. We will personally cover all electrical outlets prior to beginning your wash.
On average the horses will need to remain out of the barn from the time you begin to prep your barn to approximately 24 hours after the wash is completed. Most stalls will drain and dry within the first 12-18 hours after washing, depending on the base/mats/etc. The sawdust left to catch any standing water may need stripped and replaced prior to horses being able to return inside.
No. Barn exteriors, run in sheds, arenas, trailers, and the like can also be washed. Depending on the size of your facility these can potentially be same day add on services, or may need to be scheduled for an additional day.
Yes, and we have the ability to adjust dilution rates dependent on the location, as well as having a specific rinsing process to protect your landscaping.
